I shoot the Hornady 250 gr SST-ML in my Knight with 100-120 gr of powder, and a 209 primer. My brother shoots the 250 gr Power Belt Bullets in his T/C, and has very good accuracy with 110-130 gr of powder. The Pioneer Powder (Shockey's Gold) was very clean burning, but 777 powder is always where I end back up for holding my tightest groups. I've experimented with Pyrodex, Pioneer Powder (Shockey's gold), and 777. Tc hawken 320 grain maxi ball trial#It will take some trial and error to figure out what bullet type and powder load that it likes, but a good starting point is around 80-90 gr of powder. It could have killed him or made him blind if it had been 3 or 4" to his left and hit him in the eye or head. (I know, sounds like a personal problem) It corroded so badly that the threads failed, it blew out the back of his muzzleloader when fired, and flew right past his right ear. My old hunting partner never pulled out his nipple and cleaned or lubed it. (anti-seize or choke tube grease will work too) I'm sure this is all commonsense to you! Once you're ready to replace or put it back into the gun, add a little bit of breach plug grease just to prevent it from sticking in the future. I've seen several where people don't remove these and they become nearly impossible to remove from fouling / corrosion. Make sure you remove the nipple, clean and inspect it to ensure it's not corroded or partially obstructed. (it involved loading in the dark, a buffalo bullet, and a broken ramrod leaving me without a seated bullet before opening morning) I had a bad experience with a wooden ramrod once, and personally avoid them like the plague now. The delron rods are also decent for the price, and aren't supposed to break. I've use it for years at the range and hunting without any issues. It has a T handle so it's easy on the hand, and is aluminum so it won't break on you. Jaison sir, I use a T/C Power Rod for my ramrod.
